Bandai Namco and Banpresto Merge
November 9, 2007, 10:02 pm

Although Banpresto was already partially owned by Bandai, it has been announced that as of April 1,2008, Banpresto’s game development will fully merge with Bandai Namco. Many gamers are aware of the game developer Banpresto for such games as the Summon Night and Super Robot Wars series.

Banpresto as a company and publisher will still be around and will be focusing their work on prize machines for arcades. Bandai Namco Holdings already has plans to shift around two of the existing Banpresto subsidiaries. Pleasure Cast and Hanayashiki, both of which operate amusement facilities, will also become subsidiaries of Bandai Namco.

Bye Bye Banpresto

Ah well, since Banpresto is a subsdiary of Bandai Namco holdings, there’s nothing big deal about as the best way to survive in this dog-eats-dog world is to gather all your resources together into one. It’s not Banpresto is going out of business, it’s time for Banpresto to move back with the family.
But hey, I can see that all of SRWOG mechs get to be MGfied and this time better! Who knows? We might get to have the 1/100 SRX (fully combinable and separable) and this time under BANDAI! Isn’t that great? Bye bye, Banpresto!
