As of now there is no release date. I think it’ll be out by Christmas at the earliest, but that’s assuming there won’t be any delays… I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t finish the game by the end of this year.

Comment by Shin 23 April 2008 @ 2:40 pm

ahah yeah it won’t happened again like last time = =
I think…..ahahhahaah yeah I think it will come out on before new year.

Comment by chris 23 April 2008 @ 3:46 pm

Now what has that gotta to with you, Chris? Are you planning to make pirated copies out of this?

Comment by codename:v 23 April 2008 @ 3:56 pm

Why you worry so much about DVD9

Comment by superrobotwar 23 April 2008 @ 4:07 pm

Comment by chris 23 April 2008 @ 4:23 pm

Wow, this time Amuro looks so cool, great

Comment by NT1 23 April 2008 @ 4:46 pm

Cool! Amuro looks great! The art work of him seems similar from Gundam Evolve series!
All the characters’ battle anime looks better than other SRW series! Hope for more infos to come!

Comment by RJ 23 April 2008 @ 5:45 pm

Wow cool!! Amuro sure looks great!

Wont be supprise that only the mouth moves…XD

I very much doubt this is going to be DVD9, now matter how great the animations look. The list of PS2 games on DVD9 is so small it’s barely worth mentioning. Even Xenosaga dropped the format after their first game.

Comment by Milkman Dan 23 April 2008 @ 9:01 pm

Grendizer looks like a dwarf -.-

Comment by Ekove 23 April 2008 @ 10:01 pm

It just occured to me that some people might not know this. If you use something like Swap Magic to play imported title on a (region-locked) PS2, it won’t work with games in DVD9 format.

Comment by Milkman Dan 23 April 2008 @ 11:24 pm

I don’t think it will be DVD 9.

to RJ,

Maybe there are some secret requirements for get Hathaway and Quess from Gundam Evolve 5. hahahaha. ^.^ Ooops, gota go. have a class.

It’s not going to be DVD9. People always seem to worry about that with each new SRW title.

And considering the game is 60% done, it most likely will be released in the fall. Maybe slightly earlier if we’re lucky.

Comment by Sven7 23 April 2008 @ 11:37 pm

thats good to hear since my ps2 model is that of the 1st release so dvd9 is out of the question for me. thou i’ve been wondering how come i can watch dvd9 format movies and at the same time not able to play dvd9 format ps2 games…

Let’s see, a WHORE lifespan may only last about 40-50 years depending how good looking will she still be before her time expires. A woman’s considered OLD after she has her menopauses while a guy can still be young even at 70. SRW is very much in a menopauses situation right now.

You know, if it’s for SRW to close down the curtains, now’s the right time. The game doesn’t show innovations, lack of strong identity and always repetitive with the same old grampamechs while others like Armorcore and Front Mission constantly progress itself throughout times and that’s the reasons why they still hot despite not being larger-than-life like SRW. NamcoBandai isn’t doing so well recently with its games sales due lack of competitiveness in its games against rivals, so I don’t think SRW can even last under the PS3 title IF they still stick to the same old formula-MAKING FAGS HAPPY WHILE SHOW NO INNOVATIONS If the game’s weak, it will dies, quickly.

CV, if you act this way IRL, your life span is guaranteed to be less than 30. Seriously, quit your bitching and find something PRODUCTIVE to do if you hate SRW

Comment by thepyro 24 April 2008 @ 2:08 am

Hes a FAG, that is how FAGS act IRL.

http://dol.dengeki.com/soft/ranking.html

According the column on the bottom left of this page, Nintendo is the number one Japanese software maker in terms of sales and NAMCO BANDAI in 2nd place, a pattern that hasn’t changed SINCE LAST YEAR. (Square Enix is 3rd and Capcom is 4th.)

You’re making this too easy for me, troll.

Shut up mister fucking hentai loving otaku.

Funny how he always mention those goddamn square enix titles (Kingdom Hearts, Front Mission) and yet SE is doing worse than Namco Bandai. Ironic, is it not?

Comment by shady123 24 April 2008 @ 11:26 am

Lastly, I don’t know about Front Mission (since I actually like the series), but Armor Core is fucking dead. It ain’t as popular as you may think it is nor is the gameplay all that great. All it’s good for is graphic whores like you code. It’s amazing how games like that can make faggots like you so happy.

It’s the same circle again, with code wishing Super Robot Wars would be more like Kingdom Hearts or Armored Core, and complaining that the franchise will die if it doesn’t change.

Not getting into the act that there have been over 20 SRW titles, while Kingdom Hearts is barely on it’s third title…

Definatly not getting into the fact that SRW ALWAYS outsells Front Mission and Armored Core by leaps and bounds… And the fact that SRW would only die off as a franchise if it DID change it’s formula to be more like those other games, considering people play them because they are what they are… oh no.

Maybe Code just wants the series to die, since he obviously hates it so very much.

Comment by neolordmaxwell 25 April 2008 @ 1:51 am

Well lets just consider that they did make the next SRW oh lets say…a third person shooter/fighter with some kind of RPG element emplamented so that it retains some resemblance to it’s past.Balance would be horrendous (Super Robot VS Gundam equals pain),scaling would be intresting but royalties would be pretty big (Sd gundams cost less to lisence than their full size counterparts)and wouild probably need to be on a nextgen console to show how truely great it is.All in all it would be a large project and may not actually pay off.I understand some people believe the series needs to change (codename V)but since people still seem to like turn based strategy it’s only natural that they would stick with what works

“I understand some people believe the series needs to change (codename V)but since people still seem to like turn based strategy it’s only natural that they would stick with what works”

A change in established formula does NOT mean guaranteed success.
Take for example, the Legend of Zelda series. Ever since a Link to the Past, its pretty much been just: collect 3 of X, get Master Sword, then get # of X, defeat Ganon. Has the series experienced much change? Hell no, and yet Zelda still remains among the most popular series of all time.
On the other hand, lets take a look at the Breath of Fire series. Excellent RPG series, up till the 4th game. 5th game presents a big change that is shunned by fans of the old BoF formula. Breath of Fire then dies…
