It looks too plain for a next generation Gundam. But having 2 GN Drive PWNS ALL XD

It looks like Exia with GN Drivers on it’s shoulders instead of back -.- Or like Freedom without wings. I wonder if all next-gen Gundams will resemble older versions.

Neither Kyrios nor Nadleeh had visible vernier. You can see how GN Drive looks like in ep 25 when Tieria releases his GN Drive and sets it’s course to Sumeragi. Only Tau GN Drives look like that, as we can see how they are put into GN-Xs in one of the eps

I’ve seen a sketch of it already (a long time ag, by the way). Is it really official? I hope not. I don’t like it.

looks pretty good. since 0 had 1 gn drive, makes sense to have 2 on 00. i’m glad they kept the design nice and simple instead of giving it wings or other bs like that…

In my opinion, they should just go with the Excia Avalanche MSV instead of just attach 2 GN drives on the shoulders. This is clearly mediocre and no show unless this is only a preliminary stage of this Excia where there are further upgrades.

I don’t think those are actually GN Drives, but maybe something to disperse particles.

If you guys look closely, the cones aren’t directly attached to the shoulder armor. They’re attached to those arms that are connected to the “backpack”, and IMHO look like they can swivel in a 200-230 degree arc from the front of the shoulder to the rear. What those cones will eventually be used for, your guess is as good as mine. Anyone else notice that the arms, well the forearms at least, look very similar to V Gundams’ arms? Maybe those protrusions on the elbows will be some sort of beam shield emitter just like V Gundam.

I’m not sure what to think of the overall design just yet. I still really like the head and the torso from back when we first saw them at the end of episode 25. However, I’m not really digging the lower torso or the legs. I prefer my main character upgraded MS to be a bit over-the-top (ala Strike Freedom, Infinite Justice, Crossbone Full Cloth, etc.), so as of right now I like both the Exia and the Astraea a lot more than this, but we’ll see once the show starts.

@Yess – One thing that conflicts your statement though. The Gundams never used conventional “verniers” for propulsion. They always used GN Particles to get around. I don’t remember ever seeing the traditional “thruster” animation (usually some sort of blue color) when the Gundams in 00 were in movement. You would always see them with GN Particle trails. Even the Ptolemaios didn’t use conventional propulsion, it was always GN Particles. I get what you’re trying to say, but you can’t really call them verniers in the traditional sense.

Oh make no mistake, those ARE GN drives, from the core. This design really should be glass cannon, but then again these a day ppl who design only thinks of looks not actually use.

Just watch episode 25 where Tieria ejectd Nadleeh’s GN Drive and see how big it is compared to the “so called GN Drive” on the shoulders of the 00.

just hope this suit has multiple hard points just like the F90 it then can be an all around MS simce the design almost reminds me of V2

I don’t know if anyone have noticed this but the backpack of the 00 seems to be a core fighter, because it looks alot like the backpack of the Plutone (Yeah, the Plutone has a core fighter). And the core fighter of the Plutone actually carries the GN Drive along with it.

Just take a good look from the rear view of the 00, those cones are connected to the backpack, NOT to the shoulders.

I’m just comparing 00’s backpack with the Plutone because they look similar.

So my hunch is:
The backpack of the 00 is a corefighter which carries the GN Drive along as well.

I do see your point there because that is what Fon Spaak exactly did in 00F. Otherwise, Trinity would’ve gotten their hands on their solar furnace.

Hmm if we’re going with the core fighter theory, I’m assuming the 2 shoulder things detach along with the fighter ala the GP-01fb’s core fighter? I think that would be a pretty cool idea. After seeing the HQ scan, I’ve gotta say that the design is sort of growing on me. I still think the legs are a bit too plain, but for some strange reason it all just seems to work together. I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of weapons and special features this thing will have in the show.

Why does this guy have to come out for Gundam 00 series? I prefer Exia ten times over 00 Gundam. 0 and 00 is not a good choice for the series.

I just thought about this doesent this design look perfect for the avalanche parts if you take the shooulder desing from avalanche and place on the would b venirers on gn-00 that it kinda makes since why theyer there for the boost output

To me, 00 look empty right now, maybe they got few customize backpacks, who knows..?=)

Its kinda palin for the next generation series of gundam.I would prefer it to be more flashy as strike freedom with all those equipment.Well,we havent see this baby in action,better wait and see.

it seems that they are a little less imaginativew this time around.

going back to 00 gundam. according to what ngee khiong got, those things in his shourders really are gn drives and not jus verniers. personally, ilike the design of the upper torso. the arms also look unique. as for the lower half, i hate the stripped-down-exia-legs look.

00 has two gn drives, 00 gundam looks empty becuz its still not complete.
the 00 riser completes the 00 gundam, giving the 00 gundam its maximum performance, giving the performance to surpass every mobile suit in the series with only one gn drive.
