really weak boxart

Comment by Ereos

How is this weak? Because it doesn’t take place in space? XD

Because it doesn’t convery any feeling of awesome or power in the least. It might as well be a picture of a butterfly. Koto needs to learn from Bandai. Art that conveys warfare or simply a feeling of kinetic energy and movement attracts the view much more than simplistic models.
Even If I hate the 0 Gundam, I can’t deny that the box art for the kit is very well made. It catches your attention in a way that you can’t help but look at the details and scene.

well like amon says that what i meant nameless
plus not alot of boxarts are always in space
but knowing how awesome the kit itself is… they could have made a much better boxart for it because sometimes boxart attracts its buyers
but koto arent really good at that to be honest

Comment by Ereos

Like the R-1, this will be mine!!!! Did you notice that up to some months ago Koto announced 2 or 3 kits before a release. Now still nothing, only the Gespenst Mk.II Kai… Maybe Bandai has got the license??? Robot Tamashii Side SRW???? I really hope so!!!!!!!

Comment by Folka

The art seems a little… plain. I would have liked something more dynamic posed with the T-Link Blade Knuckles or something, but oh well. The art’s still gorgeous though.

No doubt about it, poor presentation for a poor product. What do you expect from a small time garage kit-Kotobukiya who give you outdated plamos and sub-par standards?

Koto was always a Bandai Competitive person. If Koto using high quality and same just the style exactly like Gundam Art Box. Company will being sue by them.
Got some bad news heard around on it. But I wont spoil it for this 2 company underneath

What are these bad news?

Not sure how I feel about Kaida Yuji. On one hand, he is a good artist as far as technique, and his compositions, while not particularly interest, do the proportions of his subject justice. However, he doesn’t have a good sense of how to create an interesting context, so instead he tends towards simplistic standing depictions of the mechs with the context being a very minor afterthought.

It’s not like he can’t do great pieces- I find his Cybuster boxart to be excellent, and all it took for that was a few missiles, a little dusk, and a touch of that sense of speed that makes the Cybuster what it is.

Still, boxart is never the way to decide when getting a kit.

Who cares abou tthe boxart. You’re buying it for the kit are you not? Which actually looks pretty sweet, transformable too.

Comment by F97 X-1

Well, I actually do not mind the boxart. Granted, the Gundam boxart looks very nice with their “in-battle” snapshot poses… I feel as though it’s trying to over-compensate for something it lacks. I don’t mind this boxart so as long as it shows much of the detail of the mech. Yes, I agree the background is an odd choice, but it shows that the mech can fight anywhere, whether it be the menacing cold space or the spacious yet danger mountains. (also didn’t the Art-1 have S or A rank in Air too? XD )

Granted that box art is nice, but as F97 said “who cares about the boxart”. You’re buying this and any other “boxart” for the model. XD

Comment by Nameless

true that but some people do keep the boxes… i for one only keep boxes for spare parts or just for storage space
heh
but then for suck a good mech, good model you kinda expect the finishing touch to portray its final awesomeness

Comment by Ereos

Although not as dynamic as say the MG or HGUC box art, this one serves it’s purpose fine IMHO. And the model is going to kick kinds of ass!

I can’t wait, I’ve always wanted another huckebein

Comment by XYZbuster

good boxart is always important and to make it good the mech doesn’t always have to be in dynamic pose, some of AC’s boxart like white glint doesn’t even show the full body of the mech but it certainly a very good boxart

Comment by Rekkou

good mecha with lame box art… unbeliable.
