You obviously haven’t seen the numbers. Portable SRW games, regardless of platform, sell roughly half of what console games do, and ACE:R for PS3 is selling roughly at the same rate as it’s PS2 incarnations did, so there’s every reason to believe that a console SRW will sell at least 500,000.
At this point, dependence on DS games is all about not wanting to put forth the effort required to make a good PS3 game.

Well we were all disappointed on thie because Terada thinks if they make a SRW game for the PS3, Sony would come down to them and seriously lawsuit them for releasing a 2D game for a next-gen console. He also thinks that the ZZ Gundam Stroyline is NOT Canonical and used the Z Gundam: A New Translation Adaptation for that so it won’t occur. A lot of us here are now butthurt on what Banpresto and Bandai-Namco were doing recently and I know some SRW games are ok, some are worse.
But this is really stupid, the 3DS is coming and they MUST focus on listening to us fans for once and give us what we wanted. I REALLY hope this is fake. ;A;

Assuming this moves only 40% of the copies a PS3 game would it’s probably the more profitable title. It’s also safer, using mostly series that have been in before or variants thereof; after the debacle that was Neo what Banpresto needs is a safe-bet game, and a DS game with few risks is a good bet on that front.
Smartest thing they could’ve done if it’s real. Entire team is babies.

Also they are obviously working on the next major SRWs at the same time, do you think the teams responsible for OG and Alpha are doing these hack games? Or do you think that they are still on vacations? There’s just nothing we can do but wait.

I don’t understand the appeal of moving on to a system that means that EVERY SRW is going to have to be ridiculously expensive to make and by extension ridiculously expensive to buy (due to voice actors, 3D, etc).

And 3DS doesn’t mean what you think it does. It doesn’t mean 3D animation, but tricking the mind into thinking it is so. Mecha that are far back in attack scenes will “feel” far back, and mecha near the screen will “feel” near the screen. It does not neccesarily require 3D models – though 3D models are easier to animate than sprites, because you only need one model to make an attack animation, but may require many sprites for 2D attack animation.
And yes, it does sound insane. If I can’t read Japanese very well, then no voice acting results in a very boring experience. It becomes – and I’m not trying to make a pun here – two dimensional. Perhaps even one dimensional.
And it’s just SP. August 24 is the date.

I mean hell W was a great game even without its voice acting, so as long as this is closer to that than K il be at least mildly happy.

Your theory is based on completely unrelated information: SRW and SD G Gen do not overlap with the Tales series at all. And there’s not much overlap with SRW and SD Gundam, either. And they certainly don’t compare notes with each other. Your theory does not even include a logical conclusion, like what the hell they’re going to do with the ACE:R’s OG cast. In fact, your theory ends in “wait for official sources”, which means that your theory is unimportant. It’s not lies, because it doesn’t SAY anything. “This is what I probably knew”? If you don’t remember whether or not you knew it, then there is no reason to debate what you knew, because you don’t know whether you knew it or not, or even what you thought you knew was.

If L is the sequel to K, then someone needs to suffer horribly. Is it so wrong that, with such a naming scheme as they have, that they could include sequential numerics for sequels? SRW4 => F =>F Final gets a pass because they hadn’t moved to letter naming yet, but only the once!
Oh, and K wasn’t exactly all that great, anyway.

Don’t gimp the Godannar roster for the third time in a row. There are more characters than just the Dannar Base crew, please use them.
If you’re going to include SEED and Destiny, do something useful with both. Hint: The druggies make better antagonists than the Extended, put them in and let us recruit Sting and Auel for once.
Sigh… Endless Waltz again. Well, if it’s gonna be that way do you think you could include the Ver Ka versions of the original suits as well? Your hobby division is cranking out the models and it would be a nice change of pace to see Deathscythe with the Buster Shield and Shenlong with the redesigned claw.

The actual tv show is very rarely used nowadays and that’s a real shame because I actually like the suits better in the tv show, along with the original Tallgeese and Gundam Epyon. The tv show also had some kickass music (most of which were never used for SRW). I like Last Impression but honestly I’m getting real tired of hearing it and them using Endless Waltz for SRW. Give us the original Gundam Wing please.

So much fanboyism towards a PS3 version of a game. Though it is inevitable, the sales of the DS and its massive userbase is the reason to give the system so many titles. Like the PS2 before it. Not to mention it’s easier and costs less to develop for it. Of course if they were to try to put out an SRW game on PS3 to save on time and money, they’d have to have a small roster of series and a load of Originals to make up for it.

You mean Kanji? The Hira and Kana are visible to some extent (except for pages with the robots since those are like ants), but the Kanji is barely visible except for the huge writings here and there. So to answer your question, someone with good eyes…maybe.

why yes, I don’t think I’ll accept repetition of Banpresto using same sprites with no additional voice acts or even non improved graphics. That’s why I am bawwing like a little child. “Great Main Game”? Did you even confirm that it’s actually a great main game? or did you actually bring it up thinking it’s actually great? Are you SURE it’s going to be great? I don’t think it’ll be that great.
Also most basic market rules? I can tell you a lot that SRW doesn’t make lot of profit comparing to other NBGI games. And yet NBGI fails of bringing other games to United States. The only way Banpresto will ever succeed is trying new things to get players to buy them. ACE R wasn’t too bad for it’s sale quality aside from being “OMG it’s SONY”.

Think about the time of the gba, games were easier. SRW-A & R are static with only 3 or 4 animations and same effect, sword and beam.
Just the original have some animation, but we need to wait J for decent animations.
SRW W is bettern animated than SRW ALPHA on psx.
This means that overall costs have risen and game with recycling plants are a necessary sacrifice to ensure at least a good level for main saga (Z in this case).
ds is a poor console, rather limited, with a users young that do not expect too much.
the opposite of Sony user (Or X-box) who want (rightly) the best.
This game (and I’ve already written this ) is only a piace of cake for waiting something more bigger.
ok, I have no proof that something is really coming to PS3, but I have faith.
Because Z has sold very well and it is clear that to sell even better Tarada must point to an even better game, but I understand that it takes time.
I have a Ds and a Ps3. I will wait, Z2 (or OG3) will come.

Fafner and Zoids are gone, replaced with, I suspect, primarily Linebarrel and Eva. Sure is nice having God’s spawn stomping things around, but I’m not so hot about the resident mech-pilot fag of 2008-2009. Eurgh.

And for those who say PS3 is trash, you’re the trash. Look at all those games that got remake in PS3 with enhanced gameplay,graphic, etc. (eg. StarOcean, Tales of Vesperia). You never see a PS3 game being remake for XB,Wii,NDS, whatever.
The only reason SRW remains PS3 eluding is because of company politics between Banpresto’s SRW group and Sony, which has been running for YEARS since the SRW OG Gaiden incident. A.C.E R might be the recovery of a partnership, and we might see a PS3 SRW in the not too far future.
